Great educational journeys
for school-aged groups!
The Education Committee of the Catskill Mountain Railroad is pleased to announce our Educational Programs for 2008! If you're an educator for a public or private school, summer camp, Girl or Boy Scout troop, please consider the opportunities available at the CMRR.
The first program we offer is titled "History of the Railroad" and compliments New York State's 4th grade social studies curriculum. Students will learn how railroads came to be, the impact they have had on the transportation of people and merchandise, and explaining how railroads evolved into what we know today.
The second program we offer is titled "Safety First" which emphasizes the importance of railroad safety. Railroads, like other industries that operate heavy equipment and machinery, can be a dangerous place. This lesson focuses on both train crew and passenger safety responsibilities, the importance of clear communication, and common sense safety.
The train is available for charter weekdays from June 1 to October 30. To book your group travel or for more information, please contact Gladys Gilbert at (845) 657-8233.
Maximum Capacity: 75-100 people. |
